Weekend Shmeekend.

Why Hello There!
This past weekend I was blessed by reuniting with a friend from college. We ventured downtown for the monthly FIRST FRIDAY, with the little seester and her comrade in crime. It was a magical time captured by photography of my dear friend, Tony [aka Tone Tone].  It was a blast filled with delectable treats and refreshments found at my haven, Prince Street Cafe.  After filling our tummys, we hiked over to Queen Street to explore some galleries [sketchy galleries at that.. pretty creepy but SOOOOO worth it for these legit pictures] and all the heavenly vintage shops. I was in my glory friday night.

{one day I will own one of these puppys}

Hope you have a tea-drinking Monday!

More of the world is GOOOD.

"I believe more of the world is good, rather than bad."
--the lovely words John Mayer spoke at his Battle Studies concert last night, It. Was. Epic.

So yesterday while I was at work my mom texted me an URGENT MESSAGE telling me to call her right away, [heart drop]. Yeah, I know. Freaked me out too, but I dialed her digits and come to find out we were given John Mayer and Train tickets! And my sister and I were the ones who got go. {Oh yeah another side note my sister got her drivers permit} Scary, right? --Anyways. FOCUS. Train was legit and quite the entertainer if I must say so my self. He was busting out moves Michael Jackson would be jealous of! And John Mayer was Mr. Rico Suave. He had the crowd jamming to a little jazz that he mixed into the show for a little spice and everything nice.

What was the most exciting part of the night you ask?

Could it be...
Riding the [free] ride at Chocolate World.. all for a [free] hershey bar at the end of the ride (just to kill time before the show)

{those were some MONSTEROUS bottles of choco-choco syrup}
Could it be...
singing with random peeps in the JAM PACKED parking lot of the Hershey Stadium?

Could it be...
the chinese fire drill that may or may not have happened while waiting for traffic to move?

Could it be... .
being given free tickets to this stinkin concert?

Could it be...
sneaking to the front of the concert when eveyone else thought it was over ONLY to find out Senor Mayer was coming out for an encore?

{introductions: Gio-little sis that got her permit; Me; Heid; Hannah-Heid's little sis with the photo skills}

OKAY IT WAS A MIXTURE OF ALL OF THOSE. I just can't choose.

I hope you all have a jazzy friday!
[Rae]

Oh yeah, thanks to Hannah--Heid's sis-- for these photo documentations of a rad time last night!

You SNOOZE you lose.. literally.

Hello Hello Hello,

Last night I thought I would be smooth and set my alram clock earlier than I usually do, this way I could get in a morning run [great way to wake up the senses, right?] Not so much. Instead, this is how it went down.
1.ALARM! [at approximately 6:00 am]
2.snoooze. [Tell myself I'll lay here until I figure out what I'm going to wear]
3. sleeeeeeep.
4.Mom asking if I have work today. [at approximately 8:40 am]
5. MINOR FREAK OUT SESSION! [at approximately 8:41 am]
6. Drag my butt out of bed to call the boss. [who was ever so kind might I add]
7. Worky work time. [at approximately 9:15, you know.. only an hour and fifteen minutes late. No biggy]

Anywho that's how my morning went.
But enough of Debby Downer!

Tonight I'm meeting up with a dear friend, that I have yet to catch up with since he's been home from the "Land Down Under" [ahem. Australia] and "World Cup 2010" [South Africa, mates!] I'm pretty stoked to say the least. It shall be a good time indeed.  We may or may not hit up a local coffee shop {tea time for me, yummm}.

Which reminds me! If any of my fellow bloggers are in the neighborhood [pennsylvania?? Amish-land??] then you should definitely hit up the Prince Street Cafe they have the most amazing food (vegetarian to meat lovers), delectable desserts (faaaavorite), and tea/coffee to die live for [Peach Mango Tea, may be a personal fav]. And it's a super chill place to catch up on life with friends, plus listen to some live music.

Check it!

1..2..3. CHEESE!

FRIENDS!
Sorry to break it to you friends but this is not another post about cheese, even as delectable as it is. This is a post about PICTURES! On sunday night a dear friend of mine [also a photographer] invited friends over to test out her sweet/new/peachy and keen Smilebooth, it's just like an old school photobooth but so much more. So in the spirit of smiley smiles and happiness here are a few snap shots from the party.

HOPE YOU HAVE A "SMILES-ALL-AROUND" KIND OF DAY!

A Series of Magnificent and [insert other describing words here] Events.

Alright so there was waaaayyyy too much that was passed over the weekend, SO as a result I will be resorting to pictures to tell my story. They're more fun anyways, right?? So here it goes folks! A series of *magnificently* wonderful outRAEgeous STUNNING tramatic smelly WiLd and quite frankly rad events.

EVENT UNO.
On friday [aka: day two of meatless Rae] Snave and I stumbled upon a fried chicken restaurant food supplier and I had a small mental break down but nothing major [no worries] and continued on my merry way.

EVENT DOS.
The fraaanss and I celebrated Heids birffday we a celebratory "PICK-UP-THE-FRIEND" ceremony, sadly the event ending with a crash and a BOOM!
[good].
[uh oh].
[bad].
 In the end we still loved each other.

EVENT TRES.--[THE FAM-A-LAM]
The Fam-A-Lam decided we would cook up some good ol' free entertainment and fill our lives with some treasured bonding time. And what better way to do that than chin puppets, water fights[yes, we come to conquer], and home-made piggy faces.
[brother].
[seester].

Don't mess with this Zohan family!

 Hope you have a merry cheery weary wild-raspberry smoothie day! YUM!

Vegans and Dorms and Birthdays Oh MY!

DAY TWO is complete and although I endured temptatious dinner my amigos parents made me... I denied the meat. Whhhaaaat?! OKAY! Yes, me. I passed on the meat portion of the meal. As delectable as it smelled/looked and probably tasted I was a-okay with my mac-and-cheese and peas please. I just filled this rumbling tummy with some tasty pineapple and watermelon to top this baby off. PLUS or minus the choco-choclately chip cookies and chocolate peanut butter icing cake. I have realized that without meat, cheese in any form has filled in the appropriate spot in my heart and may or may not be found at some point with each meal I devour.  Three cheers for cheese! cheese! Cheese! CHEESE! From grilled cheese, cheese quesoDILLas[like Napolean Dynamite?], mac-n-cheese, grapes and cheese I have experienced and cherished it all. Personally, I feel like I've accomplished something.. granted it may not be world hunger, but shooooot you gotta start somewhere!

On a completely different topic, I'm working with producers for a new reality show. Extreme Makeover: Dorm Edition. Okay well the working with producers part is a false statement BUT it would be pretty cool I must admit. Instead I'm recruiting the help of my stylish and expert amiga who is also an interior designer and my artsy, over-flowing with creations, unorganized (like myself) friend Snave.  With our brains there's bound to be some creative juices flowing.  I'm not gonna lie to you I'm pretty stoked. I even bought carpet for the room. KRAAAAZY. And I'm doing this project for under.... well cheap. I haven't figured out a spending cap for a poor college kid like myself. I do have tons of DIY projects that I'm going to take under my belt.[thanks to Design*Sponge--who is also publishing a book of sweet stuff like DIY [obviously], city guides, trend forecasting, recipes, and much moreeee.] {This should be interesting} I'll be sure to photo document that

One final note for the lads and lassies tuning in. Yesterday. Yes, not today the 30th of the month July but indeed the 29th was my dearest/best friend/roomie/fellow RA/dormer's BIG NINETEENTH birthday. Her last year being a teen [mine too but enough about me]. So I only saw it fitting to wish her a big ol' BLOGGY BLOG birthday and share that with my bloggy friends! Wish you could've shared in the delicioso cake with us, but it was indeed homemade and made my tummy tum tum happy.

{we know how to bring the FUNK!}

{True Roomie Love}

{Real Happy Camper}

I wish you all happy--days/DIYs/birthdays{to come}/challenges!!
Peace and blessings to all and to all a good night day.
Smiles all around.

To eat meat or NOT eat meat..{that is the question}

So I'll lay it out to you flat folks. Let's be real here, I'm a lover of food. BIG, small, sweet, salty, fruitilicious, veggified, even MEAT-- I apologize to all my vegetarian pals out there. Anywho, what I'm trying to say is I'm going to take on the challengy challenge of eating entirely NO MEEEAAAT <|-- [Please say this in your slowest/deepest/dramatic voice possible, thank you] for a week, two weeks, (okay I won't take it too far until I see what I'm getting myself into). Heck! I might as well try some tofu while I'm at it. I'm ready for the challenge! Bring on the works, cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes--yummy!, blueberries, mango, raspberry! I want it all.. and will stop at nothing. One more thing. Why start this week of meatless feasting on a wednesday, you ask? Because I like to keep you on your toes, plus I'm a wee bit out of the ordinary.

[good-bye dear meat--disclaimer do not fret, NOT really dear meat, just a term of endearment]

[It's time to put down the steak knife]
{Special appearnce by a dear friend, pal, buckaroo, encourager, curly-headed gal that answers to the name of Snavey Snave Snave}

{Peace out Big Mac!}

[here's to veggies! hopefully my face will show a little more enjoyment next time]

So family, friends, young, old wise, short, gigantic, average, extravagant, bland, outraaaegeous
(...is that enough? I think, yes.)...
lend me your questions, comments, and concerns.. and any EDIBLE recipes, (preferrably best ways to approach the tofu epidemic).

Peace and blessings partners,
[Rae]

In five years...

I woke up this morning just peachy and keen. And as I was getting ready it hit me. What is my life going to be like in five years? [Yes, I have whimsical thoughts about the future and where I'll be.]  It was so interesting to me.  Honestly, I was kind of flabergasted-- a wonderful word I've been waiting to bust out.
Anywho, for real.
Will I be engaged?
MARRIED (eek!)?
Living in {wonderful} SoHo? [HOPEFULLY!]
I have no idea how my life is going to pan out. I have ideas of how I would like it to but it's no fun controlling everymoment of life. That's the glory of it! Live every day like it's your last. I may meet the man of my dreams today, tomorrow, [heck!] maybe six years down the road.  You just don't know. I may be travelling the world or living the small town life. It's just too crazy too think about sometimes. I get excited for whatever He has in store for me and nervous too-- that means I'll be done with school forever (unless Grad schools in the picture..?
Even more creepy exciting is I'll be all on my own, so I guess that means I can't be a kid anymore.. nahh! Really? Now that's just out. of. the question. I better start saving all my monies though because the next five years are going to be a pretty fun ride. Fo' FREE! Enough about this rubbish. Live in the moment, right?! I mean the world is so big and overflowing with endless possibilities.

[Yeah, you see those little specks of people in the middle that would be my biffle(aka~BFF!) and myself--smiles all around]

But maybe you should take a small ponder... where will you be in five years?
???
A penny for your thoughts,
--[Rae]

Every great friend inspires revelations..

Last night I has an amazing evening catching up with an old friend.
He opened my eyes up to so many different things,
whether they came straight from him or spurred off of his intellectual witty-ness (props to his momma).

How to live on the wild side and do the things you think are impossible... Climbing impossible tall buildings.  How not to worry about what others think and do what your heart desires... Wearing all spandex AND riding a tandem bikeHow to manage your time for the things that matter most... A list consisting of "Serenading people on the street to 'Your Body is a Wonderland'", "Prince St Cafe", "Learning/Playing guitars in a studio", "Playing the pianos on the streets of Lancaster", "Climbing buildings", and yes the list goes onHow to have the most fun at little expense... Riding a broken elevator that stops on each floor in a parking garage (trust me it's quite the experience) and then reaching the top to see an amazing view. How to be open and true to yourself and what your feeling, but then also have the strength to trust that God has it all... Talking to an old friend and spilling your guts and all this so they can say what you need to hear, then having a mini revelation.  How to love with all of your heart, and fight for the ones you love... Love without regrets and realize there is no such thing as a "soulmate"(pagan word), but the thought that there are multiple people in the world that you are capable of "making things work" in result forfeiting your fullest happiness.  With that said, sometimes the one your fighting for may be one of the ones you could have your fullest happiness but you can also rest in the thought that there is that other fish out there that could fill you just as much. God is Love... And in the end it all comes down to this verse. God. Is. Love. [1 John 4:16] He is the one and only that can truly fulfill you beyond what your mind can possibly concieve and without His love in you, you cannot completely love your love.

--You can worship the Lord in everything you do; last night it was in fellowship. And I am at peace with exactly where I am in this journey with my Creator.

Life.

It's funny how life works out sometimes.  Sometimes you can so easily get caught up in your own world, own problems and not want to stop to love others.  Why does something tragic have to happen in order for a person to realize their purpose?  A dear friend of mine was hit by a car tonight.  She's only twelve and is in intensive care.  Why do things like these happen? I don't know.  But isn't that reason enough to live like Christ?  Shouldn't we be doing all we can to give the glory to God?  Because He is the One and Only that can heal us and our loved ones.  Show the love Christ has given you to those surrounding you, your brothers and sisters in Christ.  If you happen to stumble upon this please keep Paetyn Zeamer in your prayers for a full recovery and allow her to be a witness for Christ.

Basking in the Sweet Sun..

                                  Outer Banks, North Carolina

After pulling an all-nighter to pack and leaving good ol' PA at five in the morning, we finally arrived in Corolla around four in the afternoon. PHEW! And it was all worth it when we pulled into the driveway of our new home for the next week.  Jumping in the hot tub was definitely the way to end the day.  We spent our day at the beach soaking up the sun and loving life.  I took a stroll with a friend down the shore and got lost in conversation.  It was so good to reconnect with another follower of Christ... so encouraging!  I found myself pouring out what had been on my heart lately and realized I need to continuously chase the heart of God no matter the circumstance.  I want Jesus to lead my life.. not for me.  I have been so blessed and this trip was the perfect way to start my summer.

Soaking up the Sun.

In a matter of four days, I will be beach bound.  I'm in much need of some sun time and fellowship.  A group of crazy college-aged kids will be piling into a van and venturing to the beautiful Outer Banks.  Relaxing. Sunning. Fellowship. Late Nights. And Shenanigans.  What more can you ask for?? This is going to be a vacation for the memories.

Tea and Delectable Delights

What better way to spend a sunny afternoon, than with your best friend at the local coffee shop.  In Annville, MJ's offers the best window seats to people watching galore and my favorite Peach Mango Tea straight from a steaming pot.  An attractive, possibly homosexual but hopefully metrosexual, man sits off to our right which adds to our people watching extravaganza.  We brought work and papers to attempt to write and study anticipating the upcoming and stressful finals week, but seem to be distracted by the business of cars and people trafficking by.  Just an ordinary day in Annville, Pa awaiting a dear friend to join us in our coffee shop fun.
